“There appears to be some absurdity in relation to his [alleged] act, there’s no rhyme or reason. There’s no further background information in relation to this pair in terms of any animosity,” Magistrate Ross Hudson said in granting him bail to live in a rehabilitation facility in Port Stephens.

Ramsay appeared on screen from Parklea Correctional Centre on Friday, from where his cousin will drive the father-of-one directly to the Swan Bay facility where he will check in as an in-patient to deal with his mental health and addiction issues.
He will not be allowed to leave the centre or access the internet, and will surrender his passport to police as part of his bail conditions.
Walt Coulston, the managing director of real estate management and investment firm CK Property Group, told reporters outside the home in the stabbing’s aftermath that Ramsay was the best man at his wedding and godfather to his daughter.

Ramsay’s LinkedIn profile lists him as a developments partner at property services firm Stanton Hillier Parker, and he formerly held executive roles at Ray White Commercial and CBRE Asia Pacific. However, a spokesman for Stanton Hillier Parker confirmed Ramsay no longer works for the business.
Ramsay is charged with wounding a person with intent to murder, which carries a sentence of up to 25 years imprisonment.
