Anupam Kher, a veteran actor who is known for telling it like it is, recently said he was sad that big-name directors like Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiawala, and Aditya Chopra no longer wanted to work with him.
In a recent interview, the veteran actor said, “I am not a part of mainstream Indian cinema right now.” I am not. I’m not doing any Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, or Aditya Chopra movies because no one has asked me to.
All of these people liked me a lot. I have worked on movies for everyone. But I don’t blame them for dropping me from the cast. But they weren’t putting me in their movies, so I did a Tamil movie called “Connect” and a Telugu movie called “Tiger Nageswara Rao.” I’ve also done Uunchai by Sooraj Barjatya.”
The DDLJ actor also said that he is sure that when one door closes, many other windows and doors open, even though it hurts him. He said, “Otherwise, I could have sat down and said, ‘People who used to be my friends are now ignoring me and not giving me films. But it’s not a complaint, and I’m not mad at them either. I’m just saying that when one door closes, sometimes so many other windows and doors open.
Kangana Ranaut and Anupam Kher are both set to be in the upcoming period film Emergency.
